New Tires

It’s almost like I got a new car for $600!
Decision making process:
Sam’s Club? Tires, $118 plus mounting and balancing, BF Goodrich which is what I just had removed from my van, bald to the point of showing the steel belts, after less than half-life…but we lost the receipt. Sam’s had nothing to do with the tires that I just had removed. So Sam’s is about 45 miles and it’s Christmas shopping season and I had to take 2 kids with me. Yuck.
Dixie Auto Parts (252-465-8516) in Sunbury, NC? Tires, $124 plus mounting and balancing. In addition, they can update my inspection sticker. The tires are Cooper Tires, not a brand I’ve ever tried before. Can’t be worse than the BF Goodriches. They are about 8 miles from my home and there’s a coffee shop within a 5 minute walk.
2 kids in Sam’s-vs-2 kids in a coffee shop? No brainer. We had snacks and drinks and played checkers and chatted with Fran, the owner of the Java Cup(252-465-8800). It’s for sale, if you’re in the market for an 1850-something building with an established coffee shop and an upstairs apartment.
Dixie was quick, polite, professional and DONE in the timeframe they said they would need. Hallelujah and Merry Christmas!
(Tires are 245/75R16, load range E.)
